First aid at work is covered by The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. The legislation requires that the employer makes an assessment of first-aid needs appropriate to the circumstances of each workplace. When on a ground investigation the site will become the temporary workplace for those carrying out the physical investigation work, as well as the supervisory staff. This guidance provides information on first aid at work and focuses on the risks that can be encountered on site.
